The next conference of the Section on General Practice will be held in Montreux, Switzerland, from the 28th June to 1st July 1987, and the next conference of the Section on Business Law will be held in London, England, from the 14th to the 20th September 1987. •
Joseph L. Dundon, a former President of the Society, has been appointed to be one of the Deputy Secretaries- General of the International Bar Association. He has previously served as Chairman of the Association's Future Development Committee and of its Membership Committee. He is the Law Society's nominee on the Council of the I.B.A. At the I.B.A.'s recent meeting in New York, John F. Buckley was elected to the position of Publications Officer of the Section on General Practice of the Inter- national Bar Association. He has been a member of the Council of the General Practice Section since 1982 and is a former Chairman of the Section's Division on Legal Education and Continuing Legal Education. Bruce St. John Blake, a former President of the Society, continues to serve as Chairman of Division 13: Negligence and Accident Compensation of the Section on General Practice.

THE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED (NADCORP) has been established by the Government as an active element of its long term industrial and job creation strategy. The primary objective of the Corporation is to invest capital in industrial, commercial and other business projects having the potential to become profitable and efficient and having reasonable prospects for growth and providing viable employment. Such investments may be in a wide range of venture capital situations in Ireland which lead to the creation of added value. Applications are invited for this key senior management appointment. The Solicitor will provide a comprehensive legal service to the management team and will advise on all contractual and other agreements arising in relation to investment opportunities. The person appointed will be responsible for the implementation of all the legal aspects of investment decisions and the subsequent monitoring thereof. Candidates, preferably in the 30 - 40 age bracket, should be qualified solicitors whose backgrounds include experience in large commercial organisations or on the business side of legal practice. They should have an intimate knowledge of the application of commercial law.
