KNOW YOUR COUNCIL 1984/85

Donel P. O'Hagan Donal O'Hagan was educated at Marist College, Dundalk, Clongowes Wood College, and Trinity College. He qualified in Easter Term, 1976, and is a third generation Solicitor. He has always practised at Court House, Square, Dundalk, with his father Donal, and also his Uncle, Desmond (consultant) and his brother Niall. He is Honorary Secretary of the Louth Bar Association since 1981, when he was also first elected to Council. He has served and continues to serve on a number of Commi t t e es including Registrar's, Professional Pu r pos e s, Compensation Fund, Public Relations and Costs. He was a Committee member of the Society of Young Solicitors 1977-83. He describes himself as a temperate golfer, and is married with one son.

Carmel S. Killeen Carmel Killeen was educated at Loreto College, St. Stephen's Green, Dublin. She obtained degrees of B. A. (Legal and Political Science) and LL.B. (Honours) from University College Dublin. She qualified as a Solicitor in 1948 and was awarded a Special Certificate of Merit by the Society on the results of her final Law Examination. She holds a Silver Medal from the Solicitors Apprentices Debating Society. She was President of the Medico-Legal Society of Ireland for the years 1982/84. She has been a member of the Council since 1975 and has served on the Registrar's, Professional Purposes and Parliamentary Committees. She is Deputy Law Agent with Dublin County Council.

Edward M. McEllin Ward McEllin was educated at Castleknock College, Dublin. He attended Trinity College, Dublin and was admitted as a Solicitor in the Michaelmas Term of 1977. He is the Principal of the firm of Patrick M. McEllin & Son, Claremorris, County Mayo, and is a son of the former Council member, the late Paddy McEllin. A former Treasurer of the Mayo Solicitors Bar Association, he is now the Connaught Delegate on the Council. He serves on the Compensation Fund and Professional Purposes Committees of the Law Society.
