Courts of Justice Bill. A letter in reply was read from the Secretary of the Department of Justice on the subject of the introduction of the Courts of Justice Bill which is now in preparation. The Council considered the letter satisfactory. Legal Practitioners (Qualification) Act, 1929. Draft regulations for " Second Examina– tions " under this Act, submitted by the Court of Examiners, were approved. OBITUARY. MR. ROBERT \V. GLASS, Solicitor, died on the 8th January, 1934, at Montenotte, Londonderry. Mr. Glass served his apprenticeship with his uncle, the late Mr. Hugh Glass, Ban- bridge ; was admitted in Easter Sittings, 1895, and practised up to the outbreak of war in 1914, when he joined the Army. He was twice mentioned in despatches, and received the French Military Medal. He was appointed to the office of Resident Magistrate for the County of Mayo in 1919, and subsequently for the Counties of Fermanagh and Londonderry. MR. JOSEPH W. DYAS died on the 21st January, 1934, at his residence, " The Priory," Monkstown, County Dublin. Mr. Dyas served his apprenticeship with his father, the late Mr. Joseph Galloway, Dublin ; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1894, and practised formerly at 55 Upper Sackville Street, and latterly at 14 South Frederick Street, Dublin.

Land Certificates. The Council had under consideration the recently adopted practice of the issue to owners of registered land their Land Certificates from the Land Registry, accom– panied by a printed letter from the Registrar to the registered owner, explanatory of the objects of the issue of Land Certificates. Circuit Court Costs. A letter from a member drawing attention to a difficulty in reference to the taxation of the costs of a reversal of a District Court decree was referred to the Circuit Courts Committee. The Council passed a resolution expressing its deep regret at the death of Mr. Alexander D. Orr, a past President of the Society, and its sympathy with his relations in their bereavement. Mr. J. W.
