OBITUARY. MR. GEORGE C. MACRORY, Solicitor, died upon the 2nd January, 1928, at his residence, in Hilary Sittings, 1894, and practised, in partnership with Mr. C. W. Black, at 13 Donegall Square, North, Belfast. Dunmurry House, Co. Antrim. Mr. Macrory was admitted MR. ALPHONSUS L. RYAN, Solicitor, died upon the 8th January, 1928, at Dublin. Mr. Ryan was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1879, and practised (in partnership with his brother, the late Mr. W. J. Ryan) formerly at 24 St. Andrew Street, and latterly at 25 Nassau Street, Dublin. He retired from practise in 1914. He was Registrar to the County Court Judge of Roscommon and Sligo from 1897 to 1924. MR. STIRLING J. SEEDS, Solicitor, died upon the 17th January, 1928, at his residence, Pendennis, Ranfurley Avenue, Bangor, Co. Down. Mr. Seeds served his apprenticeship with Mr. George Alien, Belfast; was admitted hi Hilary Sittings, 1916, and practised at 52 Upper Arthur Street, Belfast, under the style of Galway, Mcllwaine and Seeds.

MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.

12th January. Twenty-one members present. Bankruptcy Commission.

At the request of the Council Mr. Ouirke and Mr. Knight consented to give evidence before the Commission. Jurisdiction of Master of High Court. A report was submitted from the members of the Council who had attended on a joint deputation to the Minister for Justice, with representatives of the Standing Committee of the Banks, and representatives of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce. The deputation discussed with the Minister questions which had arisen owing to a decision of the High Court discharging an •order made by the Master by reason of the High Court Rules not giving him jurisdiction to make the order. The Minister had under taken that the questions discussed with him would receive consideration. Statutory Committee. A letter from the Chief Justice was read intimating that he had appointed the following members of the Council to be the Statutory Committee for year ending 26th November, 1928:—Mr. Thompson, Mr. Orpen, Mr. Warren, Mr. Quirke, Mr. Sheridan, Mr. Tallan and Mr. Seales.
