The new Chairman also expressed t he hope t h at Ka t h e r i ne De l a h u nt w h o w a s retiring f r om t he Comm i t t ee wou ld con t i nue her involvement w i t h t he Society in a consultative role and attend conferences wherever pos- sible. The new Chairman wo u ld w i sh to encourage more of those Solicitors w h o are young at heart t hough not necessarily in age to attend t he t w i ce yearly confer- e n c e s. J a m e s M c C o u r t a l so endorsed the sen t imen ts of t he ou t go i ng Chairman w i t h regard to establishing closer links w i t h t he Bar and building on existing links w i t h groups f r om Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales and t he C o n t i n e n t. He w e n t on t o c o m p l i m e n t t h e h a r d w o r k i ng Committee. Topics will range from Insolvency and in particular its implications for property practi- tioners to the Compe t i t i on Act and t he EC Contractual Obligations Convention. ,—.

Anne Clancy Profile of New President Dr. Anne Clancy, M.B.; D.C.H.; D.Obst.; M.P.H. Anne Clancy was born in Dublin and was educated at Scoil Chaitriona, Dublin. She graduated from U.C.D. in 1976. Dr. Clancy worked initially as a Registrar in Psychiatry in Newcastle Hospital, Wicklow and at Stewart's Hospital, Palmerstown. She has been employed by the North Eastern Health Board as an Area Medi- cal Officer in Public Health Medicine since 1982. She is, at present, an Area Medical Officer in the County Meath Community Care Area with special interest in mental handicap and child sexual abuse. The new President is the daughter of the late Mr. Jack Clancy, a former Official Assignee in Bankruptcy. •
