OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION
GENERAL MEET I NG IN K I LKENNY
Following the address of the Presi dent of the Society, Mr. David R. Pigot, at the Half-Yearly General Meeting in Kilkenny on 2nd May, 1987, Mr. John O'Connor, Chairman of the Solicitors Benevolent Association was called upon to outline the Association's activities. Following a resume of the Association's work, Mr. O'Connor stated that the Committee wished to thank the Bar As s o c i a t i o n s, the Younger Members Committee and individual Solicitors who had responded to the financial appeal made at the last General Meeting. However, the Association remains in serious need of funds as there will clearly be a sizeable deficit this year. About 60 cases are currently being dealt with. Mr. O'Connor said that subscriptions from individual Solicitors may be sent to the Secretary of the Association, Ms Clare Leonard, at 4 0 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2, or c/o Law Society, Blackhall Place, Dublin 7. The President who had earlier in the day attended a meeting of the Direc- tors of the Association thanked Mr. O'Connor and the other members of the Association Committee for their work wh i ch he said deserved the continued generous support of the profession.
