Andrew J.O. Donnelly Andrew J.O. Donnelly is Principal of the firm of Alan Donnelly and Company, 39 Trimgate Street, Navan, Co. Meath and is son of the late Andrew Alan Donnelly, Solicitor. He was educated at De La Salle School, Navan and Clongowes Wood College and obtained the degree of M.A. at Trinity College in 1968. He was admitted a Solicitor in 1970 and has been a member of the Council since 1979 and has served on many of the Society's Committees. He is the immediate Past President of the Meath Solicitors' Bar Association.
Rory O'Donnell Rory O'Donnell is Senior Partner in Rory O'Donnell & Company, 16 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2. He was educated at Killenard National School, Monasterevin C.B.S. and De La Salle Brothers, Kildare. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1961. He worked for Dominic Dowling for 6 years before setting up a practice on his own. He has been closely associated with the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association of which he was president in 1981/2. He has been a member of the Law Society Council since 1974. While he has served on a number of committees, he has been most strongly associated with the Conveyancing and Education Committees and has been Chairman of both. Although not from a legal family two of his brothers are also Solicitors, Aidan who was a partner in O'Donnell Turley & Company of Portarlington until he was appointed a District Justice last year and Hugh who has been a partner of his for some years.
SOCIAL WELFARE LAW COURSE
The Centre for the Study of Family Law and Social Welfare Law is offering a four week course of lectures on Social Welfare Law, beginning on 9 September, 1985. The purpose of the course is to familiarise the participants primarily with the law relating to the income maintenance schemes administered by the Department of Social Welfare and the Health Boards, and it is also proposed to examine the Redundancy Payments Acts and the Scheme of Civil Legal Aid and Advice. The number of places on the course is limited, and there is a course fee of £30*. Six two-hour lectures, from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m. will be given on the following dates, Monday, 9 September; Monday, 16 September; Wednesday, 18 September; Monday, 23 September; Monday, 30 September; Wednesday, 2 October.
