LAWYER EXCHANGE PROGRAMME Because of the expansion of international business in the years since World War II and the increased facilit ies for international travel, lawyers, particularly those in the younger age group, have manifested an interest in visiting other countries for purposes of familiarizing themselves with the language, customs and practice of law in that country. The Council of the International Bar Association accordingly approved a Lawyer Exchange Programme designed to achieve these ends. From past experience it appeared that such a Programme to be effective should be on a bilateral basis. Many member organizations of the International Bar Associa tion have named representatives to act as the liason for this Programme and to be responsible for local arrange ments. Lawyers who are interested in this Programme should get in touch with Eric A. Plunkett who has been named as the pro-tem liason representative for the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland.
