THE GROUSE SEASON Gunmen may consider the title of this snipit to be a pointer to some activity in the off season, how ever, the contrary is quite the case. The bag we are concerned with is a mail bag which contains a random sample of the correspondence conducted by the Society between January 26th 1968 and February 22nd 1968. The period covered includes twenty working days during which the Society received 40 original complaints about the conduct of solicitors and during which the Society wrote 264 letters arising therefrom and from other un satisfied complainants as at 22nd February 1968. The figures quoted relate solely to complaints and do not include letters of enquiry which might later give rise to a formal complaint being lodged. The figure does not take into account the number of personal complainants who are interviewed in the Society's Office or the number of complaints made to the Society on the telephone.
