Solicitors' Accounts Regulations, 1957 THE Council made the regulations and directed that they should be submitted to the Chief Justice for his concurrence. Law Clerks' Joint Labour Committee THE Secretary stated that an application for an all-round increase of IDS. per week had been con sidered by the Committee. Modified proposals have been submitted by the Committee to the Labour Court. These proposals will not take effect unless approved by the Labour Court. Joint Committee with the Bar Council MESSRS. THE latest date for taking out practising certificates in time was Wednesday, 5th February. Attention is drawn to the provisions of Part V of the Solicitors Act, 1954, with regard to the issuing of practising certificates and the Sections 54 to 57 with regard to the qualifications for acting as solicitor and the consequences of practising without a certificate. The form of declaration which must be made in order to obtain a practising certificate may be obtained by Dublin solicitors, or by country soli citors through their Dublin agents, on application to the Society's office. Neither the declaration nor the certificate when issued can be sent by post. MEETING OF THE COUNCIL DECEMBER 5TH : Solicitor to Body Corporate. Apprentice A REPORT from the Court of Examiners on an application by a solicitor in the whole-time employ ment of a Body Corporate for permission to take an apprentice was considered. It was decided that the application should not be granted.
