SOLICITORS' BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION. The Law Society's Centenary Anniiity of £52 per annum, which was instituted to com memorate the Society's Centenary and which is administered by the Solicitors' Benevolent Association, has been awarded as the result of an election by the members of the Associa tion to Mrs. Florence Roche, widow of the late David Roche, Solicitor of Tralee and Castleisland, Co. Kerry. JUNE EXAMINATIONS, 1943. An Intermediate Examination will be held on Tuesday, the 1st June. Notice of inten tion to attend should be lodged before 12th May. First and Second Irish Examinations will be held on Friday and Saturday, the 4th and 5th days of June. Notice of intention to attend should be lodged before the 15th May.

The award of costs presupposed an issue as to the appli cant's right to same and as there was no issue as to the applicant's right to his initial costs the Court was reluctantly compelled to dismiss the application for additional remuneration. LEGAL APPOINTMENT. Mr. Donnchadh UaDonnchadha has been appointed an Acting District Justice. Mr. UaDonnchadha was admitted a Solicitor in Easter Sittings, 1933, and for some years practised at 16 Nassau Street, Dublin. He was appointed Assistant Solicitor in the Office of the Chief State Solicitor and for the past six years has been engaged princi pally in the conduct of proceedings on behalf of the State in the Metropolitan and County Dublin District Courts.
