OCTOBER EXAMINATIONS, 1937. The " First" Examination in Irish is fixed to be held on Friday, the first day of October ; the " Second " Examination in Irish is fixed to be held on Friday and Saturday, the first and second days of October. Notice to attend either examina– tion to be lodged before llth September. The Intermediate Examination is fixed to be held on Monday, the fourth day of October. Notice to attend to be lodged before 14th September. The Final Examination is fixed to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, the fifth and sixth days of October. Notice to attend to be lodged before 15th September. The Preliminary Examination is fixed to be held on Monday and Tuesday, the eleventh and twelfth days of October. Notice to attend to be lodged before 21st September.

OBITUARY. MR. GEORGE A. H. HAMILTON, Solicitor, died on the 1st July, 1937, at the Rectory, Hanley, Staffordshire. Mr. Hamilton served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Henry F. Leachman, Dublin ; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1909, and practised at Belfast up to 1912, when he went to Nairobi, Kenya. MR- MICHAEL J. RYAN, Solicitor, died on the 12th July, 1937. Mr. Ryan served his apprenticeship with Mr. Laurence J. Dennehy, Dublin; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1906, and practised at 44 Kildare Street, Dublin, up to 1915. MR. JOHN G. H. WILSON, Solicitor, died on the 21st July, 1937, at his residence, " Raheen," Jordanstown, County Antrim. Mr. Wilson served his apprenticeship with Mr. W. J. C. Mills, Belfast; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1897, and practised at 143 Royal Avenue, Belfast. He had been an Extra-Ordinary Member of the Council of this Society since 1928. NEW MEMBERS. The following have joined the Society :- Laurence K. Branigan, Drogheda. Charles Harvey (Jun.), Castlerea. Herbert MacNeice, Dublin. Richard L. O'Flaherty, Enniscorthy. Myer Woolfson, Dublin. APPOINTMENT. The Chief Justice has appointed Mr. Fintan M- O'Connor, Solicitor, Wexford, to be a Notary Public.
