Mr. McCormick served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. St. George Robinson, Sligo, and practised at Sligo in partnership with Mr. Henry C. G. McCormick, as Fitzgerald and McCormick. MR. MATTHEW HENRY JACKSON, Solicitor, died on 25th June, 1934, at Hastings, Sussex. Mr. Jackson served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Samuel Hemphill, Dublin, and practised at 19 Saint Andrew Street, Dublin, up to 1913, when he retired. Miscellaneous Professional Information. The partnership heretofore existing between Lancelot Upton Smith and Cecil George Vanston, under the style of Stritch, Smith and Vanston, at 39 Westmoreland Street, Dublin, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of June, 1934. Mr. Smith will continue the business under the style of Stritch, Smith and Co., at 39 Westmoreland Street. Mr. Vanston has become a partner in the firm, of Crookshank, Leech and Vanston, at 22 Kildarc Street, Dublin, as successor to the late Mr. Francis E. Fetherstonhaugh. Patrick J. Brady, of 20 Molesworth Street, Dublin, has retired from practice as from 30th June, 1934. The practice of Mr. Brady has been acquired by Mr. Stephen Dempsey, lately of Claremorris, who will carry it on at 20 Molesworth Street, under the style of Patrick J. Brady and Co.

A letter of 1st June was read in reply from the President of the High Court expressing regret that he could not accede to the request of the Council to alter to a later day the day fixed as the last day for setting down actions for trial by jury during the present sittings, but, owing to the amount of work that has to be disposed of, he could not do so. Proceedings for Recovery of Rates. The question of the desirability of legisla– tion for the purpose of authorising the recovery of rates by civil process in the District Court was referred for consideration to the Circuit and District Courts Committee. OBITUARY. MR. EDWARD J. MALONE, Solicitor, died on the 6th June, 1934, at his residence, Church Street, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone. Mr. Malone served his apprenticeship with his brother, the late Mr. John Malone, Cookstown ; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1894, and practised at Cookstown. MR. KEVIN WALSH, Solicitor, died on the 17th June, 1934, at Dublin. Mr. Walsh served his apprenticeship with his father, the late Mr. James J. Walsh Dublin ; was admitted in Easter Sittings, 1920, and practised at 56 Merrion Square, Dublin.
