Workmen's Compensation Bill, 1933. The Secretary reported that he had communicated to the Minister for Industry and Commerce the request of the Council that the Minister would move on Report stage of the Bill the omission from section 43 of the words " or agent " where those words occurred three times in that section, and that the Minister on Report stage had complied with the request, and that Section 43 of the issue of the Bill as amended on Report does not contain the words. The Secretary submitted memorandum received by him from the Hon. Mr. Justice FitzGibbon under which the following mem- 'bers of the Council were appointed by Mr. Justice FitzGibbon acting under the pro– visions of the Courts of Justice Act, No. 15 of 1928, to be and to act as the Statutory Committee for the year ending 26th Novem– ber, 1934 : Mr. James J. Lynch, Mr. W. Gordon Bradley, Mr. John J. Duggan, Mr. Daniel J. Reilly, Mr. Laurence J. Ryan, Mr. Peter Scales and Mr. Basil Thompson. Committees and Court of Examiners. The Committees of the Council and the Court of Examiners for year ending 26th November, 1934., were appointed. MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL WHO REPRE– SENT THE PROFESSION ON OTHER BODIES. Incorporated Council of Law Reporting : Mr. Thomas G. Quirke and Mr. Thomas W. Delany. Rules of Court Committee under Section 36 of Courts of Justice Act, 1924. Supreme and High Courts : The President. Rules of Court Committee under Section 65 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1924. Circuit Court Rules : Mr. W. Gordon Bradley and Mr. John J. Horgan. 14th December, 1933. Twenty-three members present. Statutory Committee.

Rules under Land Purchase Acts to be made after consultation with The President. OBITUARY. MR. JUSTIN MACCARTHY, Solicitor, died on the 9th December, 1933, at Kildrought, Celbridge, County Kildare. Mr. MacCarthy was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1889, and practised at 19 Upper Merrion Street, Dublin, under the style of Justin MacCarthy and Co. up to 1929 when he retired. MR. THOMAS F. MONKS, Solicitor, died on the 22nd December, 1933, at his residence " Annacrevey," Glenageary, Co. Dublin. Mr. Monks, who served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Robert K. Clay, 21 St. Andrew Street, Dublin, was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1887, and practised (in partnership with Mr. John J. Gaynor) under the style of Monks and Gaynor at 27 Moles- worth Street, Dublin. He was a member of the Council of the Society from 1918 to 1923. MR. RICHARD FiTzSiMMONS, Solicitor, died on the 29th December, 1933, at his residence 4 Heathfield Road, Terenure, Dublin. Mr. FitzSimmons served his apprentice– ship with the late Mr. William Patterson, Belfast, was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1899, and practised as a member of the firm of Hone and Falkiner at 9 Suffolk Street, Dublin up to 1932 when he retired.

APPOINTMENT.
