MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.

OBITUARY. MR. PHILIP J. O'SULLIVAN, Solicitor, died on the 12th January, 1936, at his residence, Brookville, Ballinacurra, Limerick. Mr. O'Sullivan served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Patrick S. Connolly, Limerick, was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1896, and practised at Limerick. He was a member of the Council of the Society from 1929, and was a Vice-President of the Society for the year 1933-34. MR. WILLIAM MURPHY, Solicitor, died upon the 27th January, 1936, at his residence, 30 Wellington Road, Cork. Mr. Murphy was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1883, and practised at 44 South Mall, Cork. He was an Extra-Ordinary member of the Council of the Society from 1924 to 1930. MR. JOHN T. TATLOW, Solicitor, died on the 20th January, 1936, at Dublin. Mr. Tatlow was admitted in Easter Sittings, 1881, and practised at 24 Anglesea Street, Dublin, up to 1899, when he retired.

A resolution was passed expressing the deep regret of the Council on the death of their colleague, Mr. Philip J. O'Sullivan, and their sympathy with Mrs. O'Sullivan and his son in their bereavement. Extra-Ordinary Members. A letter was read from the Incorporated Law Society of Northern Ireland giving the names of the following members as those elected as Extra-Ordinary Members of this Council for the ensuing twelve months :— Mr. R. V. Hamilton, Mr. William C. Gage, Mr. G. Murnaghan, Mr. J. C. Taylor and Mr. J. G. H. Wilson. District Court. A letter from a member drawing attention to delay in the work of the Dublin Metro politan District Courts was considered, and it was resolved to address a communication on the subject to the Minister for Justice.
