Damage to Property (Compensation) (Amendment) Act, 1933. Correspondence with members in reference to a question affecting Solicitors arising under this Act was submitted, and it was resolved to take the opinion of Senior Counsel in reference thereto. Costs Query. The following report from the Costs Com mittee on query submitted for decision was adopted :— What is the scale fee payable to Vendor's Solicitor under Rules of the Solicitors' Remuneration Act, Schedule I, Part I, on a purchase, the consideration money being £75, having regard to Rules 7 and 8 ? The Committee is of opinion that the fee is four pounds and ten shillings, consisting of three pounds minimum fee prescribed under Rule 8, plus fifty per cent, increase ; and that Rule 7 does not apply.

The Secretary reported that the Chief Justice had made an order, on the applica- | tion of Counsel on behalf of the Society, directing the name of John J. Tully, of Dublin, to be struck off the roll of Solicitors by reason of his conviction for fraudulent conversion of money to his own use. Free State Statutes. A letter in reply, dated 17th June, was read from the Controller of the Stationery Office, stating that publication of the bound volume of Statutes for 1933 would take place within the next ten days. The letter further stated, in explanation, that the volume is unusually large, occupying 1,500 pages, and that the folding, gathering and collating of such a large quantity of material is a matter requiring much time and care to ensure perfect accuracy; and, further, that the volume in question is no doubt an exception, and that the Society can be
