APPOINTMENTS. Mr. Richard H. McCoy, Solicitor, has been appointed Under-Sheriff for County Tyrone, in room of the late Colonel Henry Irvine. Mr. McCoy has appointed Mr. W. G. Wilson, Solicitor, 29 Wellington Place, Belfast, his Returning Officer. Mr. Francis C. O'Reilly, Solicitor, Trim, has been appointed County Registrar for County Meath, in room of Mr. A. V. Montgomery, resigned. Mr. James M. Seales, Solicitor, has been appointed Solicitor to the Agricultural Credit Corporation, Ltd., 2 Merrion Square, North, Dublin. THE PRESIDENT. The Council have elected Mr. Edward H. Bume, of 7 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin, to be President of the Society for the ensuing twelve months. The newly-elected President is a nephew of the late Mr. Gerald Byrne, a former President of the Society. He was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1903, was elected a member of the Council in 1916, and was a Vice-President of the Society during 1919-20. THE VICE-PRESIDENTS. The Council have elected Mr. Charles J. Laverty, of Castleblayney, and Mr. Henry K. Toomey, of Athy, Vice-Presidents of the Society for the ensuing twelve months. LIBRARY. The Council acknowledge with thanks the following gifts for the Library :— Volumes 14-20, inclusive, of " Irish Law Times Reports," from Mr. Thomas Huggard, Solicitor, Tralee. Volume 9 of the " Irish Law Times Reports," from Mr. Henry P. Bridge, Solicitor, Roscrea. The Volumes 1-3, 10-14 and 21 are still wanting to make the set of the " Irish Law Times Reports " complete.

A letter in reply was read from the Con troller of the Stationery Office stating that the volume of Statutes for 1927 is in the hands of the printers, and it is expected it will be published shortly. Searches. A letter in reply was read from the Minister for Justice stating he is inquiring into the matter of the delays in the making of searches at the Registry of Deeds. Four Courts. A report was read from Mr. R. C. Orpen, R.H.A., in reference to the progress of the Society's new buildings at the Four Courts. OBITUARY. MR. EDWARD FELTON, Solicitor, died upon the 13th November, 1928, at his residence, 33 Oakley Road, Ranelagh, Dublin. Mr. Felton served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Isaac Molloy, Dublin; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1907, and practised at 18 Eustace Street, Dublin, in partnership with Mr. Gerald S. Fayle, under the style of Molloy, Fayle & Co. MR. PATRICK A. MURPHY, Solicitor, died upon the 22nd November, 1928, at Kilkenny. Mr. Murphy was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1894, and practised at Waterford. MR. THOMAS G. MENARY, Solicitor, died upon the 24th November, 1924, at Belfast. Mr. Menary served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. George Hezlett, Lurgan ; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1884, and practised at Lurgan. MR. JOSEPH McKAY, Solicitor, died on the 28th November, 1928, at his residence, 4 Willowbank Gardens, Belfast. Mr. McKay served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Thomas Barkley, Belfast; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1901, and practised at Belfast.
