He served his apprenticeship with Mr. Nicholas F. Maher, of Nelson Str et, Tippera;y. The Preliminary Examination Overend Scholarship was awarded to John Ryan, who obtained first place and was awarded a Special Certificate at the October, 1921, Preliminary Examination.
