Costs Committee. Report from Committee on the following query was adopted. Under which scale applicable to leases should the costs of the following lease be drawn ? Lease of house in City of Dublin for 50 years at a yearly rent of £50, the .poor law valuation being £51. Covenant by lessee to repair, maintain, and keep the premises. The Committee reported that the costs should be drawn under Table I, Part II of Schedule I of the General Order under the Solicitors' Renumeration Act, as amended. Adjournment. The Council adjourned until 5th October unless otherwise specially summoned. Land Bill, 1923. A deputation from the Council consisting of the President, Mr. Orr, Mr. Fottrell, and the Secretary had an interview with the Minister for Agriculture on the llth July, and submitted amendments to the Land Bill for his consideration. The Minister discussed at considerable length with the deputation the amendments put forward, and accepted some of them ; he also undertook to further consider, and to write to the Council on the subject of Vendor's costs of sale. \\th Julv. Twenty-six Members present. Regulations. Draft regulations under the Solicitors' (Ireland) Act, 1898, Amendment Act, 1923, were submitted and adopted. Colonial Solicitors' Act. The Secretary reported that the letter containing the request of the Council to His Excellency the Governor-General that he should make application to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, for an Order in Council applying the Colonial Solicitors' Act, 1900, to the Irish Free State, had been forwarded to the Minister for Home Affairs on 27th June, for submission to His Ex cellency, and had been acknowledged. Judiciary Committee. It was resolved that representatives of the Bar Council, and of the General Council of Provincial Bar Associations of the Free State be invited to meet representatives of this Council to discuss the report of the Judiciary Committee. 25th July. Twenty-seven Members present. Court of Examiners. Report on an application for leave to be bound under section 16 was submitted, and the application was refused.
